DR. GREGORY STAINER: My name is Gregory Stainer and I grew up in Chicago, Illinois, and I’ve always wanted to be a doctor. I went to Loyola University Undergrad and then followed up my training to Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois, downtown. After I completed my residency at the University of Wisconsin, I moved to San Diego where I became a Fellow at the University of California, San Diego, and I spent one year as head of the VA at that institution, and then came to Bakersfield to open up an eye bank and begin corneal transplantation here.
