DR. GREGORY STAINER: At Southwest Eye Care we offer the latest in progressive lenses. These are lenses with no line to obstruct one’s distance and near vision. It’s a nice blended type of vision, which allows for people to see distance in the intermediate to near without having to move their head in any particular direction. Especially with today’s use of the computer, that line obstructs people’s vision on that computer screen. I think anyone would be a candidate for progressive lenses probably over about the age of 45 when they start loosing accommodation and have to use that little bit of magnification to see better.
