DR. GREGORY STAINER: At Southwest Eye Care and Laser we have the latest technology available. We have the topography machine, the Humphrey topography machine, which is excellent in recognizing small imperfections in the cornea. We have an OCT machine, which recognizes and diagnoses imperfections and small abnormalities in the retina that aren’t even visible to our examination. Then we also have the newest machine, which is an Opthonix iZon machine, which allows us to prescribe wavefront glasses for people with corneal scars and other abnormalities of the cornea. These new iZon lenses actually will provide less distortion and glare in people with corneal scars and irregularities that we can’t fix with the LASIK or other type of procedures.
