Computerized diagnostic technology creates laser-designed lenses for enhanced vision.

DR. GREGORY STAINER: The iZon lens is a unique type of lens that we’re offering now to our patients. In this case, we have an aberrometer that checks the unique fingerprint of each individual’s eye. In doing that it then feeds into a computer what the specific areas that that patient might be lacking. So someone might have a zone right up here to the right, and right down here, that’s a little different than it is in the center. This lens can be designed using a laser that actually enhances the vision at those individual areas. In doing so, at nighttime, someone will find—who’s had problems with the flare and the different things—that it’s sharper, almost like high-definition TV would be. It really enhances the vision in a way we can incorporate this all into today’s latest styles and all that really work much better for an individual both with reading, with distance vision, and all things in between.
