Jack Groves, OD
Dr. Jack Groves is a well known optometrist in our community with over 50 years of experience in provide quality care and vision for his patients. Dr. Groves was born and raised in Wasco and a proud alumni of Wasco High School. Dr. Grovers stayed location by attending Bakersfield College, where he played on the golf team for 2 years. He then earned his optometry degree from Southern California College of Optometry in Los Angeles. He then served his country by being commissioned into the Air Force and becoming the first optometrist for the Air Force in New York. After 3 years of the east coast, he missed his home and came back to Shafter. Dr. Groves has served the Shafter community for more than 50 years and the highest compliment to any doctor is merited for Dr.Groves as his patient STILL travel from Shafter just to see him.
Away from the office, Dr. Groves is an avid golfer and family man. Dr. Groves celebrates his 44th year of marriage to Selita Groves, who he opens acknowledges as his better-half, and is the proud father of Kevin, Jeff, and Jennifer. He has 4 grandchildren: Alexis and the "triplets" (Layla, Lane, Bella). Dr. Groves has lunch with granddaughter every Tuesday and Thursday (it helps that she is also part of our work family too).
Clinical Focus: Refractive optometry (contact lens, gas permeable lens [RGPs], glasses), external disease and corneal astigmatism.
